Dear Mr, Stearns:
i am enclosing herewith copy of our brief
in the Korematsu case testing the constitutionality of the
Pacific Coast evacuation of persons of Japanese ancestry.
I*ll also send you enother brief which was submitted by our
attorneys as counsel for the defendant, AG the moment it is
in the hands of regional counsel for the War Relocation Au}
thority who are having it copied.
We would appreciate receiving a copy of your
petition as well as any brief you may file.
Our briefs have also been filed in the Mitsuye
Endo case which is similar to yours. Mise Endo is now at the
Tule Lake relocation project. After the parties file their
briefs, the oase will stond subsitted tatdu 0 Michael Roche.
Judge Welsh, who has been s tting on our case, is out of town,
it is hard to say when our case will be decided,
