) Continuing to push its program of clearing Pacific Coast Military Area No. 1
of Japanese by the end of May, the Army today prepared to move an additional 9200
persons living in the states of California and Oregen to California Assembly Centers
Areas affected, and the number of Japanese to be evacuated in the orders, in-
clude the entire city of Stockton, 1500; the entire city of Sacramento, 3pound00; all o!
Merced county and parts of Mariposa, 1000; ail of Stanislaus county and portions of
Tuolumne and Calaveras counties, 1000; portions of Placer count;, 2000, and all of
Hood River count; and portions of Wasco and Sherman counties in Oregon, 600.
The California Japanese will be evacuated to the Marysville, Merced, Stockton,
and Sacramento Assembly Centers while the OUregon Japanese will be moved to the cen-
ter at Pinedale, California.
(OREGON )
Civilian Exclusion Order No. 49 affects approximately 600 persons living in
all of the county of Hood River, State of Oregon, and those portions of the Countie
of Wasco and Sherman, State of Oregon, lying generally west of U.S. Highway No. 97.
The Civil Control Station for this area is in the American Legion Hall,
Eleventh and June Streets, Hood River, Cregon. A responsible member of each family
and each individual living alone, wiil report at the' Civil Control Station between
the hours of 8 asm. and 5 p-Mme, day, May 8, and Seturday, May 9.
Evacuees from this area will be moved to the Pinedale Assembly Center (near
Fresno, Calif). `Movement will begin Tucsday, May 12 and will be completed by noon,
Wednesday, May 13.
(NORTHERN CALIFORNIA )
Civilian Exclusion Order No. 47 affects approximately 1000 persons living in
that portion of Placer County, officially described as:

way No. 99E intersects the Placer-Yuba County Line, at or near
Wheatland; thence southeasterly and following said Highway No.
99E to its intersection with a paved road running easter)

ment will begin Monday, May 11, and will be completed by noon, Thursday, May 14.

Civilian Exclusion Order Ne. 48 affects approximately 1000 persons living in

that portion of Placer County, officially described as:
"All that portion of the County of Placer, State of California,
within the boundary beginning at a point at which California
State Highway No. 49 intersects the Placer-Eldorado County
lines thence southwesterly along said county line to the Placer-
Sacramente County line; thence westerly along said county Line
to the improved road running from Folsom to Loomis; thence nor-
therly along said improved road to its intersection with U. S.
Highway No. 40; thence northeasterly along said Highway No. 40
to its intersection with California State Highway No. 493 thence
easterly along said State Highway No. 49 to the point of
beginning."

Fifteenth and I Streets, Sacramento, Calif. A responsible member of each family

the hours of 8 aem, and 5 pem., Friday, Mey 8; Saturday, May and Sunday, May 10.
Fvacuation will be to the Sacramento Assembly Center. Movement will begin

(CENTRAL CALIFORNIA )
Civilian Exclusion Order No. 50 affects approximately 600 persons living in
Stanislaus, Taolume and Calaveras counties, officially described as:
"The County of Stanislaus and those portions of the
"County of Tuolumne and the County of Calaveras, lying
southerly and westerly of California State Highway
No. 49, being in the State of California."
The Civil Control Station for this area is in the Winter Garden Auditoriun,
1125 Tenth Street, Modesto, Calif. A responsible member of each family and each
individual living alone, will report at the Civil Control Station between the hours
of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Friday, May 8, and Saturday, May 9.

Merced and Mariposa counties, officially described as:
"The County of Merced, State of California, and that portion
of the County of Mariposa, State of California, lying
southerly and westerly of the following roads: State High-
way No. 49 from Auburn to tne town of Mariposa and the junc-
tion with, and also, the paved, improved and unimproved road
running in a southerly dircetion from the town of Mariposa
through Mormon Bar and Ben Hur to Raymond, such roads being
the eastern boundary of Military Area No. 1."
The Civil Control Station for this area is in the Veteran's Memorial Hall,
Seventeenth Street, between "P" and "Q" Streets, Merced, Calif. A responsible mem-
ber of each family and each individual living alone, will report to the Civil Control
Station between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Friday, May 8, and Saturday, May 9.
