September, 1942, between George Masami Sakai and Ayako Sakai, calbed


owners, and Joseph R. Goodman, called occupant;


WITNESSETH, that the ownars hereby permit the eecupant to


reside in all that property situated at 1627, 1629 and 1631 Post


Street, in the City and County of San Francisco, State of "aliforta,


for an indefinite period of time beginning with the execution of the


document and extending for the duration of the present war, or unitil


either the owners or the occupant revoke this license by written


notice,


THE PURPOSE OF THIS LICENSE is to afford an opportunity


to the occupant and whose with whom he desires to be associated te


develope racial understanding among the peopbe of the community of

(1) The ocennant may reside on the premises without payment of rent,


and he may invite other persons to reside thereon, Such other persons


may aleo reside thereon without payment of rent if the occupant go


prefers, but if he understakes to require them to pay a rental, the


proceets thereof mist be delivered to the owners,


(2) The occupant will pay for all city, county, state and federal


taxes which may be immosed upon the vroperty of its use.


(3) Ultimately the occupant will peacefully quit or surrender tha


possession of the premises in as good condition as reasonable use.

within the privileges extended by this license, :


(5S) "his license may be terminated at any time by two days written


notice by thw owmers, mailed to the occupsnt at 1627 Post Street,


San "raneisco, California, or by a written notice of 30 days by the


cecupant to the owers, In event of such termination, by the occud=


ant, he is to be responsible for the pro-rata share of the taxes up


to the date of surrender,

end repair, but shall not make any alterations, deface any walls,

owners,
