TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
I have only known John Shinkai since my arrival in Topaz in
January 1943. However, we have been associated as teachers
in the Math and Science Department as well as playing together
as teem mates on basketball and baseball teams,
I have found John a willing and capable worker doing more than
his share of the work. In playing ball he is a good sport and
cooperates very well on team play. It is a pleasure to play
on the same team with hin.
His work has been largely conducting high school classes in
Mathematics and General Science. He has done this job very
well, while working under a handicap of virtually no material
and the most rudimentary "rural" school environment. He is a
trustworthy and hard working teacher.
I most sincerely hope that he will be able to complete his
education and find his place in our society.
I am sure he will be able and willing to add his share.
Sincerely yours,
Joe Goodman
