Dear Dorthea,
We tried to get in touch with you but found you out of the
office. We had the idea of referring to you the feasibility of
bringing to the attention of the R.A. the possibility of esta-
blishing a recognized U.P. or A.P. or and Pederal. Publicity release
system of Nisei personnel.
We feel that this type of mechanism would give an interpre~
tation of the problems within the resettlement centers that would
help create a more equitable public attitude. It would also give
an organ of expression from the Japanese people for the Federal
agencies. In addition to this it would sreate a desirable rally~
ing point of marale and leadership in the resettlement projects
and assembly camps. It is hardly necessary to point out to you
thet qualified personnel are availeble within the Nisei group.
A way of carrying this out is the sugcestion of having this
personnel be an affiliate of the W.R.A. Public Relation Depart=
mente The materials must necessarily be accepted as complete art-
icles without the coloration of the editorial comments of the
pressed after having passed by the Press Relation of the W.R.A.
Appreciating your thoughtful coments.
Yours sincerely,
Lincoln Kanai
