Mr. Tom Clark
Alien Coordinatior,
Western Conmand,
Whitcomb Hotel,
San Francisco, California
Dear Mr. Clark:
It is desirable that there be appointed a Federal Social Security
representative within the eonfines of each assembly area or a authorized
Japanese American or a group appointed to cover said area - the purpose
of disposition is to care for the liaison activities between the Japanese
people that are interned within the camp: and the headpuarters of the
W. G. Ce A or the W. R. A. This may be an extension of the W. CG, Ce" Ae
It is desirable that this terson or group have direct contact with head-
quarters and not have to bother the manager of the camp with details.
This person or grou" of people will care for the details of peoperty
settlement, school transfers, health cases where special treatment is
necessai'y, individual and family settlement where jobs are awaiting and
specific individuals are requested, the uniting of family groupings,
travel permits where examinations are given for professional status,
establishing contacy for inter-racial administration. The logical step
for this solution t'Us would be called a civil control station perhaps.
It is felt that there will be multitude of such problems to the extent
that the camp personnel will be unable to adequately solve.
Resvectively submitted,
Lincoln Kanai, Executive Secretary
