MANZANAR, April 16-Surgeons
and doctors from nearby towns have
requested Manzanar Reception cen-
ter officials to cllow. them the use
of Manzanar's medical center equip- |
ment.
The equipment available in the:
medical center here the finest in
this part of the state. The present
hospital here has a 100-bed capacity,
and ultimately the unit will house
150 beds.
Dr.. James Goto, for six years!
house surgeon in Los Angeles Gen-
eral hospital, is medical director in
charge. of the Manzanar. medical
center." `Dr. Yoshio Togasaki, an-
other Los Angeles General hospital
staff member, is public health ad-
ministrator, and Dr. Masako Kusa-
yanagi, another former Los Angeles
physician, is the third member of
the staff.
Public Health Administrator To-
gasaki is now inoculating the entire
reception center agains. small-pox
under orders from the U. S. Public |
Health Service.
