Buzz Arlett played for the Oakland Oaks from 1918 to 1930. A caption affixed to back of photograph reads: "Buzz Arlett started his career as an Oaks pitcher, but was too valuable as a hitter, so he was shifted to the outfield. He was Oakland's most potent hitter in their history."
