Typed caption on back: "About once a year the trees are covered with tents and fumigated to kill scale insects. Note measurements on tent to determine cubic contents. Hydrocyanic gas is discharged under the tent and at the end of 45 minutes the scale insects have been "Gassed". Under sunlight the gas injures fruit and foliage, so fumigation is done at night."
Stamped on back: "This photograph is our file copy do not mutilate it. Please return as soon as possible Philadelphia Commercial Museum. 1310 3." Written in pencil on back: "FS-70" and "FN-32482."
