Title supplied by cataloger. Typed caption on back: "After 'balling' the trees are placed in lath houses where the trunks are scrubbed with brush and lather. This removes dirt and any disease spores which may lurk on the bark. The balled trees are then shipped to a buyer and hauled to a newly laid-out orchard." Stamped on back: "This photograph is our file copy do not mutilate it. Please return as soon as possible Philadelphia Commercial Museum."
