TO WHOM IT' MAY CONCERN:
Dr. Joseph Goodman, Assistant Superintendent of the Steinhart
Aquarium of the California Academy of Sciences, San Frantisco,
residing at 2031] Baker Street, has shown by the many practical services
that he has contributed unceasingly to human welfare at the Japanese
Y. M. C. A. as well as to the countless number of Japanese residents of
San Francisco in the past several months. The unselfish services in
terms of perscnal aid and advice, recreational direction, meeting social
and welfare needs, educational studies of cooperatives, as well as inter-
racial group experiences and coordination have most generously won the
respect of the Japanese residents and helped in the meeting of a vital
human need in the Uptown district of San Francisco.
the unassuming way in which he has comlucted these services by
being a part of the community and serving with them has been a capital
one, and most commendable.
I am sure that if you should desire to use him in any way, the
social perspective, understanding and experiences that he has undergone
will definitely contribute to the welfare and wellbeing of any community
function especially in the processes of building an American Community
in a resettlement project.
Yours truly,
