Fifth issue of the California Flower Market newsletter, containing an editorial titled, “How to Deal with Prospective Market Relocation Issues” and a long essay titled “The Flower Gardeners are Happy”. In the essay, the writer mentions major Japanese-owned agricultural organizations (vegetable and fruit farms around Sacramento, vegetable farms from the downstream region of Stockton, the Bay Area’s flower market business, and so on). He stressed that due to the Naturalization Act of 1870, the number of Japanese farmers had dramatically decreased. The newsletter also includes the Research Division Committee’s minutes and the article “Travelogue of Southern California,” covering a business trip to SoCal’s flower growers near Los Angeles. The newsletter also contains miscellaneous news and a newly added section “From the Suggestion Box.”
